Wagology 101

Puppy manners are essential, and Wagology 101 is a great start to the Snowy Pines way of life. This class begins when the puppy reaches 7 weeks of age and encompasses almost 200 hours of training and lifestyle socialization.
Successful graduates of this program will understand beginning command words in both verbal and physical cues. More importantly they will be accustomed to kitchen time, family time, and dinner time. Wagology 101 develops a baseline to get your puppy where the average family can continue the training process once the puppy is home in their new environment. We will provide the curriculum and support to help further the training but expect to spend approximately 30 minutes per day in reinforcement. Some families have the time needed to further the process to develop these needed skills. If this is you, this level of Puppy U is the perfect option for you.
Lifestyle Training
- Socializations Exercises: experiences within social settings to build on the family atmosphere. Kitchen Time- Your puppy will be introduced to being in the kitchen with you while cooking and not being underfoot or constantly begging for a treat.
- Family Time: Your puppy will be introduced to sitting in a family setting and watch TV or play games without having to be the center of attention.
- Travel readiness: Your puppy will be introduced to traveling in the car with you.
- Vet socialization: He or she will be ready for vet visits without incident.
- Older dog socialization: Your puppy will be ready to come home or visit other family dogs.
Behavioral Training
- Leash walk training: The beginnings of mastering the leash and to walk and eliminate pulling and jumping. Specifically, tight Leash.
- Crate Training: to help eliminate those accidents that happen in the home. Your puppy will be started on crate training and should be able to be completely house trained in approximately 3 to 5 weeks once home.
- Yes /No: Recognize verbal commands relating to positive/negative activity.
- Sit: Be capable of recognizing verbal and hand signals to sit.
- Stay: Your puppy will be able to stay at a distance of 5 feet for up to 5 seconds.
- Fetch: Your puppy will happily be retrieving balls or toys and trust they will want to do it more times in the day than you do!!
- Calm/Settle: Sometimes we get a little too excited and this command will help bring your puppy to a calmer state.
Wagology Honors Program

Advanced Wagology is a much more advanced training program encompassing over 350 hours of training.
In this advanced course encompassing nearly 350 hours of training your Snowy Pine’s puppy will not only master the basics in Wagology 101, but they will receive an additional 4 weeks of concentrated interactions with life happening moments. Each puppy has a moment where the training just clicks, and all are different. Once we have that moment, we see tremendous changes not only in their training but their personality as well. On average we see this at the 10-12-week-old mark. The additional 3 to 4 weeks of training in Puppy U is vital for puppies to retain all the commands and life skills they have learned and need. Puppies graduating this program will also be AKC STAR Puppy certified. This is a the foundation to AKC Good Citizen Certification, which is accomplished in our Doctorate Program.

- Bedtime: We will have your puppy ready to sleep in the

- Storm Training: Your puppy will be ready and accustomed
for thunderstorms. - Vet socialization: He or she will be ready for vet visits without incident.

- Animal socialization: Puppy will be accustomed to cats and other common farm animals (horses, cows, chickens).
Behavioral Training
- Leash walk training: to master the walk and eliminate pulling and jumping. Specifically, Loose Leash
- Potty Training: to help eliminate those accidents that happen in the home. Your puppy will be sleeping up to 6 hours in their crate at night and house training should be accomplished in approx 2 to 4 weeks once home. If you want full house training please see our Doctorate program.

- Down: Puppies will still like to jump occasionally but will be ready for “down” command
- Stay: Your puppy will be able to stay at 10 feet for up to 10 seconds
- Heel/Leash: Puppy will be able to stay in step with you on a loose leash (tail wagging of course )
- Fetch: Your puppy will happily be retrieving balls or toys and trust they will want to do it more times in the day than you do!!
- Drop: Release fetched item on verbal command
- Calm/Settle: Sometimes we get a little too excited and this command will help bring your puppy to a calmer state.
- AKC STAR PUPPY CERTIFIED
Wagology Doctorate Program

Our Wagology PHD is our most advanced degree and takes puppies from beginning training to AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification. This involves many different training protocols but one of the most important is that we will finish house training your new puppy. We also add several specialized training protocols to achieve the most polished puppy possible.
Wagology Doctorate is known across the globe for producing some of the most well behaved training English Labradors. Most importantly all graduates are AKC Canine Good Citizen Certified (a foundation for most great service dogs).
In this advanced course encompassing over 600 hours of training, your Snowy Pine’s puppy will not only master the basics in Wagology 101 and Wagology Honors program but they will receive an additional 4 weeks of advanced training in our lifestyle module training center. During this time we take house training to completion. Our puppies will train as normal in our training center but will also spend a good amount of their last four weeks in our training home in order to start finalizing house training in new settings. This process prepares your puppy for accommodating house training in their new home. Along with house training comes our Pick Your Trick Program. Who doesn’t want their new puppy to perform a cool trick? We work with you in a specialized trick training such as spin, crawl, touch, or legs. This is one of the most entertaining parts of the Doctorate program.

Lifestyle Training
- Hold Restroom for 6 to 8 Hours: Puppy will be able to hold restroom for 6 to 8 hours at a time, if kenneled.
- Acclimation to surfaces, noises, equipment, and people: parchment paper/aluminum foil, cardboard, bubble wrap (for more confident puppies), metal/wood, people with gloves, baseball hats, sunglasses, masks, beards, backpacks/rolling suitcases, plastic bags, umbrellas, cane, wagon, broom, vacuum, babies crying, firework, thunderstorms, crowds, motorcycles/cars, cats, chickens, cows, small dogs, leaf blower, lawn mower, drill, and tractors. This ALL helps puppies be comfortable in new environments, and with new people faster.
- Handling/Grooming Practices: touching of ears, feet, tummy, nails, teeth, taking, collar on and off, blow drying, bathing, nail trims, brushing, weighing on scales.
- Stair Training/Moving Surface/Elevated Surface/
Enclosed Walkway: This prepares your puppy for the many different environments that your puppy will encounter in life.
Behavioral Training
- Place: Place of relaxation and self calming for anxious/over excited dogs. Great for when guests come over so they do not get over stimulated/jump/bark on/at guests. Stops begging at dinner table, get great photos, and great for dogs who don’t like a vacuum.
- Wait: Keep dogs from darting out doors, kennels, cars, or getting too excited for feeding time.
- Heel/Leash: Puppy will be able to stay in step with you on a loose leash (tail wagging of course )
- Pick Your Trick: Spin (puppy turns in a complete circle) Crawl(puppy crawls on belly for about 2 feet) Touch(puppy uses nose to touch you hand, can be transferred to touching other objects with additional training after doctorate) Legs(puppy comes and sits between legs, can be trained farther to walk forward and backward after doctorate).
- AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN CERTIFICATION– This is the gold standard of behavioral certification. You can be confident that your puppy is ready for their new life in your busy family!!
