The Snowy Pines Emotional Support Animal Training Program
The Snowy Pines Emotional Support Animal Training Program is uniquely designed to teach our White Lab and English Cream Golden Retriever puppies the skills required to be effective emotional support dogs.
Your unique needs and emotional disability lead our training process – the Snowy Pines team will then customize the training according to your dog’s initial evaluation (advanced obedience, house and public manners, relationship building, and preparation to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test).
Whether you’re looking for an emotional support dog to alleviate loneliness or a loyal pet to help you get through panic attacks, PTSD episodes, or other events, your friends at Snowy Pines can help.
Our special training program includes lifestyle training, advanced socialization, and special mental health training that enable an ESA dog to improve its owner’s quality of life. We hand-pick puppies with the right temperament and personality for the program, or you can choose a puppy in advance from one of our litters.
As all of the dogs at Snowy Pines are genetically pure English White Labs or English Cream Golden Retrievers, you can also count on their soothing disposition and devotion.
Labs and Goldens are highly intelligent and make wonderful companions, which is one of many reasons AKC lists both breeds as the best family dogs.
Once your ESA puppy completes their training, you can pick them up at our Ozark location, or we can deliver the dog to your home. Our home delivery service includes both solo flight and nanny flight options, so you can decide how your puppy flies.
When you meet your new emotional support dog, you’ll reap the therapeutic benefits and companionship of an ESA almost immediately, all thanks to months of rigorous training at the Snowy Pines facilities.
Snowy Pines ESA training includes:
- Basic Obedience
- Target Training
- House Training
- Crate Training
- Leash Walking
- Public Access Manners (for pet-friendly stores and housing)
- AKC’s Canine Good Citizen, Advanced Canine Good Citizen (CGCA), and Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU) testing.
During your ESA’s time at the Snowy Pines facilities, we’ll familiarize your emotional support dog with different environments. Our goal is to ensure they feel confident in most situations in the community, such as other households and public places that allow ESAs.
With an emotional support dog from Snowy Pines, you can welcome an intelligent, loving, and supportive dog breed into your home.
Knowing your ESA graduated from a training program developed by a team of top-rated emotional support animal (ESA) training specialists will make the integration of your ESA into your daily routine all the more seamless.

The Two Tiers of Training
Snowy Pines offers two tiers of in-person ESA training. The price of your emotional support puppy is contingent on the ESA’s completed training levels.
Tier 1 ESA Training
Snowy Pines’ first tier of the ESA program provides fundamental emotional support dog training to ensure that your dog has the necessary social and lifestyle skills. The training includes teaching your dog how to interact with people in a friendly manner, control impulses, and handle different environments. This training is essential to ensure that your dog can effectively provide emotional support to their owner and others in need.
Snowy Pines’ specialty emotional support dog program takes things a step further by teaching your Lab or Golden how to be a true companion animal. The training involves teaching your dog how to recognize and respond appropriately to different emotional cues, body language, and vocal expressions.
Tier 2 ESA Training
The Intro to Foundational ESA Tasks program is our second tier. This highly focused training offers customized learning opportunities, with an emphasis on special skills and mental health conditions, such as retrieval skills and interruption behaviors. Snowy Pines can match the training to your unique needs.
ESAs don’t need to complete a preset number of training hours. However, the Snowy Pines commitment is to nurture the most well-bred, healthy, loyal, and well-trained puppies possible. That’s why all of our emotional support Labs and Goldens have completed special and extensive training, so you’re prepared to live your best life — and so are your lovable companions!

Emotional Support Dogs vs. Psychiatric Service Dogs — Which Animal Is Right for You?
When looking for an emotional support dog for sale, it’s important to understand the distinction between an emotional support dog and a service dog. Service dogs go through different training and are also classed differently in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and have different access rights.
A service animal, including a psychiatric service dog, undergoes specific training to perform tasks that support individuals with disabilities, whether that disability is physical, sensory, intellectual, or mental.
For example, a psychiatric service dog might be trained to turn the lights on to help someone with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) feel safe before entering a room. On the other hand, an emotional support dog is primarily trained to provide comfort and companionship.
Psychiatric Service Dogs
- The ADA says service dogs aren’t pets, so they’re allowed in any building or facility where customers and members of the public are allowed.
- Service dogs are allowed to ride with their handler in the carrier of an aircraft.
- Service animals are protected by the Fair Housing Act (FHA), which ensures people with a disability have access to housing.
ESA Dogs
- Emotional support animals are allowed in pet-friendly stores and facilities.
- ESA dogs can’t ride in the carrier unless the airline permits it.
- Emotional support animals are protected by the FHA, too, so you can live anywhere with your dog.

Labs and Goldens: The Best Emotional Support Dogs
Our purebred Labs and Goldens make excellent emotional support dogs thanks to their easy-going disposition and high intelligence.
Intelligent, Lovable Breeds
Labrador and Golden Retrievers rank among the top ten most intelligent dog breeds. They learn quickly and can easily solve simple problems.
They’re also some of the most family-friendly dogs. According to the AKC, Labs are the top family dog, with Goldens close behind in 3rd place. Both breeds can adapt to any environment, including urban and rural living. Because Labrador and golden retrievers love spending time with their owners, you won’t find a better dog breed to meet your companionship needs.
Genetically Pure Dogs
At Snowy Pines, we only breed genetically pure English White Labs and English Cream Goldens to ensure our dogs carry the best traits that these breeds have to offer.
These favorable traits include a calm temperament, a willingness to decompress at the end of a long day, and a desire to enjoy their owner’s company without additional stimulation. Unlike their American Retriever counterparts, English White Labs don’t need to burn off excess energy before they can unwind.
Professional Care and Training
Snowy Pines prides itself on ten years of dog training experience. We know how to bring the best out of our White Lab and Golden Retriever puppies.
Every member of the Snowy Pines team genuinely loves our dogs and gives them generous amounts of attention from day one. That’s why our emotional support animal dogs are brimming with love when they meet their owners and are ready to start their new life in their forever homes.
